Should I buy more dice?
The more dice you have on hand, the faster you can get rolls done which keeps the game flowing. My players most often use d4s or d6s for damage dice – most have a bag each. If they need more dice, such as 8d6 for a spell, I have a stockpile of different dice I can lend to them for the session.

Why are D&D dice so expensive?
Individual dice tend to be expensive not because of the materials or difficulty of construction, but because they’re annoying to deal with. Physical Store: easiest way is bins for each type of die. Make sure they’re in sight of the counter to prevent theft, though. Counter space is precious.
How many dice do you need to DM?
The dice set you linked to should have enough dice to make that happen. As a player and a DM I use four sets of distinct dice. Distinct sets can help you in swarm fights of lots of low damage so you match the d20 with the same set damage die like the d6 or d8.
